![]() Welcome The Staff of Temple Sinai Preschool welcomes you and your child to our Preschool. The following pages will introduce you to our philosophy and policies. Please do not hesitate to discuss with us personally any questions or concerns you may have. Our history Our Religious School begins at kindergarten and continues through high school, but before the 1992-93 school year, Temple Sinai had no in-house program designed to meet the needs of families seeking a Jewish experience for their young children. Our members wished to educate their pre-school age children in a warm, nurturing and creative Jewish environment. Following two years of planning and preparation, Temple Sinai's Preschool opened in the Fall of 1992 with one class of eighteen children per day. In our second year, we expanded to two classes of fourteen children each. In January of 1996, we began a third class for two-year old children. Our philosophy Our program features a developmental Jewish curriculum designed to meet the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of each child. The program emphasizes holiday rites and rituals and their significance in the life of young children and their families. The Staff has created a program which links the Preschool with the larger congregation wherever possible. The links to the left within this section contain excerpts from the Temple Sinai Preschool Parent Handbook. If you need information that is not found here, or have misplaced your handbook, please call Michelle Tirella Green at (510) 451-3263 or click on the 2008 - 2009 Parent Handbook link to download it. The file size is ~240 Kbytes. Please allow a couple of minutes for the file to download. * Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the 2008 - 2009 Parent Handbook. |
